Realistic tattooist expectations

I'm looking to get my first tattoo, and the artist I'm talking to said this design is too detailed for a forearm tattoo. The examples she gave for forearm designs were SUPER simplistic. Before calling bullshit and looking for another artist, I wanted some takes from artists and anyone with enough experience getting tattoos: Am I wrong in thinking this is doable as-is or with minor modifications (I even went as far to draw a sketch with less than HALF this level of detail which I can post as a reply along with her examples if that helps, she said that was still too much detail), or do I really need to go low-detail or move the tattoo to a completely different spot?

Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to reply.

  1. “Expectations for tattoo artists should be realistic and based on their skill level and experience. Quality work takes time and practice.”
